New Year

The New Year is always a good thing. Its a time for renewal, a time for change. a time to move on. Its hard to move on sometimes. We can't help it, but we keep on looking back. If you are in Christ all of the sin that you have made in the past year, its gone. Its forgivin. This is your chance to shine! You are the only one that can make this year the best. You decide on how you want this year to be. May this year be filled with more laughs, and love than ever before. If you are willing to make a change this year, be proud of yourself. Its hard and it takes alot of strength, but you can do it. We [ humans ] were made for change, to spread the Word of Jesus Christ. Go out this year and Shine!

Grieving

Losing someone we love hurts. Sometimes, it seems impossible that they are gone. We feel like things will never get better, that there will always be that empty hole in our hearts. But it does get better. I promise you. God promises you. It may not be the same, but it does get better. It may take days, weeks, months, even years, but it does get better. It makes us stronger, it pulls friends and family together. We need to remember in times of grieving, to look to God for our strength and comfort. God will give us the strength we need, and He will give us the friends and family to comfort us. They seem so far away now, the ones we love, beyond our touch and beyond any means for them to touch and comfort us. Now it is up to us to comfort one another. God has a plan, and we just need to trust Him <3

Give Thanks

"Praise the LORD! Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Who can utter the mighty acts of the LORD? Who can declare all His praise?" Psalm 106:1-2

As Thanksgiving is coming around the corner, I thought maybe we should really take a step back and think, " What are we really thankful for? " So many people say ' thanks ' because they feel that is what your suppose to say after somone does something for you. But do you acturally mean it? Or howabout, you are sitting at the dinner table Thanksgiving night and your listing off what you are thankful for... Clothes, bed, food, water, etc. But do you ever think of the people out in the world that dont have clothes or a nice bed to sleep in? We take what we have for granite, and what we have that we think is something little, someone else out in the world may think its extremely big, and it could change their life forever. When you sit down at the dinner table and list off things that you are thankful for, really think cause it might suprise you of how much you really are thankful for deep down in your heart.

Second Chances

Remember when you were little and you got in a fight with a friend and you asked for a second chance and they gave it to? Well do you ever wonder why we are given second chances? God believes in second chances. He believes in third chances, fourth chances, etc. He gives us so many chances for a reason. We don't know what that reason is, so thats why we need to take those chances and make them into something we are proud of. Let me ask you one more question. What would YOU do with a second a chance?

Mistakes

Everyone has made mistakes in your life and its okay. We learn from our mistakes and they help us become a more mature and better person. After you make a mistake, say to youself, " I am going to try to be better next time and not make that mistake. " After we make a mistake we sometimes feel very guilty and we want so badly to go back and fix it but we can't. Since we can't fix our mistake, how about we try erasing them. Whenever you see an eraser think about your mistakes and know that you can erase them through God. You can ask Him to forgive you for the mistakes you have made and He will. He's just waiting for you to ask the question...

Worry

Do you ever worry about things in life? I know I do, but God doesn't want us to worry. He wants us to cast all of our worries and cares on Him. Like it says in ' 1 Peter 5:7, ' ( Cast all of your anxiety on Him because He cares for you ). He is in control at all times and thats where we need to trust Him. He knows how each and every day will be like and we just have to trust Him with all our heart that every day will be okay. In ' Matthew 6:25 ' there is a story about not worrying about things in life. It is one of my favorite stories in the Bible. Read the story and come back to this entry and share your thoughts on what you thought about the story.

Rejection

Posted by Mikayla Rush on June 30, 2011 at 8:50 AM Comments comments (0)

Rejection is God's protection. Right now you’re probably thinking, “Wait a minute, that doesn’t sound right. How can rejection be a form of protection?” But I’m not talking about rejecting by God. The Lord will never reject you – He will always love and accept you! The rejection I’m talking about is the rejection you sometimes face in your own life. When you feel like the world is rejecting you, whether at work, in your personal life or through the loss of something important to you, that may be God’s way of protecting you. You are His child and He wants to do everything He can to protect you. We may not understand why we get rejected but we must trust God; He knowa everything. Rejection is a very hard thing, but at the end of the day always remember, " Rejection is God's protection. "

God's Love <3

Do we really know how much God loves us? Well let me put it this way. God loves us so much that He was willing to sacrifice His own Son for our sins. Jesus loves us so much that He was willing to die for our sins. God loves us so much that He created us. It puts a smile on my face knowing that this universe is so big and God still wanted to make me; wanted to make all of us. He doesn't care what you have done in your past, He still and always will love you. He wants you to love him back. I feel that His love is the greatest gift ever, and we should give Him a gift back by spreading His word around and showing other people God's love.

Check out the video I posted on God loving you. <3

Serve

Do you want a summer job or do you want volunteer during the summer? Well you should. God loves it when we serve others and help out. When you serve others they can see Christ working through you. Serving others doesn't just make the people you are serving and God happy, but it makes you happy as well knowing that you are helping someone in need. If you can't think of anything to do to serve I have thought of a couple..........

~ Yard Clean Up ~ Baby Sitting ~ Cleaning ~ Car Washing ~ Cooking ~ Heavy Lifting ~ Daily Chores ~ Dog Watching/Walking ~ Or Even Giving Someone Company ~

There are so many more things to do to serve one another, these are just a few to get you thinking.

Pay It Forward

Posted by Mikayla Rush on June 6, 2011 at 2:53 PM Comments comments (0)

Have you heard of paying it forward? Well if you haven't, I will tell you. Paying it forward is kind of like a ripple affect. You start it by helping 3 people out. When you help those 3 people out, each person has to pay it forward by helping another 3 people out. It doesn't have to be people in your school or in your neighborhood, it can be anyone. Just don't forget to tell them to " Pay It Forward ". Dream big, start small.  We can change the world.

Drop by the video section to watch a video on paying it forward. :)
